Wairere falls is the highest waterfall in the north island officially measuring in at 153m. The descent is spectacular and exposed with great views out over native bush and the nearby Waikato countryside. Due to the exposed nature of the falls, strong wind can make life difficult.

This is now not allowed, I’ve been approached by a dock ranger that the local iwe dont want people going down
New Double Ring Bolt anchor for safety line to access R1.
R1, R2 & R3 anchors are all now stainless steel anchor stations
R1 & R2 anchor locations have moved slightly but shouldn’t affect your descent as long as you keep your eyes open
R3 has a new Anchor Location approx 5m TR of the main flow. THE PITCH IS NOW 10M LONGER
All bolts are Glued in 10mm x 100mm threaded rod
