First descent French Aotearoa Expedition 2016/17, whilst in preparations to descent Gloomy Gorge.

Second known descent, Andrew Humphreys, Dale Strang, Charlotte Workman et al March 2024.

Andrew and his team were intending on the 3rd descent of Gloomy Gorge, but at the time, there was too much water. So they made a very difficult bush-bash to traverse from the Gloomy catchment, through thick sub-alpine scrub to Son of Gloomy.

More information to come, but it looks around v5a4 with some gorgeous looking pitches and views across the valley.
