Kiwi Jacks Creek v3a3II** (grade pending until there are enough trip logs)

Max drop 20m. 1x50m, 1x30m ropes

20min/1h45min/40min (approach/descent/return

Public access

Short and sweet canyon, with several pitches and surprisingly nice bedrock features.

Toine Houtenbos noticed potential in the creek in 2012, then Kelton explored from the bottom, noting the gorge and waterfalls.

First canyoning descent: 7 September 2024  by Jeroen Verhees (Stretch), Billy Norton and Mhairi-Bronte Duncan, all glacier guides from Fox.

Probably worth more exploring in the upstream section, below where it crosses SH6!

Thanks to Stretch for the Topo and the Images!

Great trip right off the side of SH6!
Anchors all good, plenty of fun smaller jumps. Access and exit are straightforward.

Shout out to Stretch and the Fox guides for their mahi with the bolting and topo

Walked up the bottom from the bridge for about 0.5 km. Decent gorge and some small falls, but not a technical canyon. I turned around once it started to flatten and the gorge went away.
