How are we funded?

KiwiCanyons.org was founded by Dan Clearwater in 2010.

Since then, I’ve poured thousands of hours into developing, maintaining and repairing this site. It’s a service to the community, but now the time committment is fairly significant.

Since 2021, I’ve received some funding through donations from the community, some advertising and a small yearly grant from the NZ Canyoning Association.

The income now covers the fixed costs and web contractor fees, but not the time I spend. My time is valuable, and my vision is an income equivalent to ‘minimum wage’ for the hours worked.

A small donation from many will achieve that vision. Please chip in a few bucks, and tell your mates to do the same.
