Water level was quite low even with 10mm of rain the day before, didymo throughout. Fun quick go through the slot then a lengthy boulder hop out. Anchors all good. 1.75hrs to Woolshed creek hut then 5.5-6 hours back to the car.

Very fun and cool canyon. Didymo was as far up as the hut :(. Down climbs and bolder hopping were the hard parts of the day. Narrows and a cool jump were the high lights. We brought big heavy ropes Incase we wanted to do another one of the other canyons. Save yourself the time and energy and go light through this canyon.

Beautiful slot canyon, well bolted, including lunch and some playing in the pools took our group (beginner to int) 8-9 hours car to car. Lengthy section of boulder hopping after last rap.

  4. Taner says:

River in the lower section is plagued with didymo. Started noticing some at one of the early exit points near where three fellahs joins woolsheed creek. It gets worse as you go down. It is possible to stay dry as you exit three fellahs, cross the creek and exit. Plan ahead and have a cleaning solution.

  5. jen powell says:

Much of the wind fall has cleared now.

  6. Gort Stephan says:

We’ve been down Woolshed creek with a group of six on 24/11/13. The anchors all appeared fine. Quite a few fallen trees in the lower, more open, section of the canyon, but no new obstacles.

  7. Chucky says:

    Descended 11 Mar 12,

Several of the pools that were previously swimming, are now full with gravel! There’s hardly any compulsory swimming at the moment. Also there is evidence of relatively recent rock fall (earthquakes?)

All the main anchors remain in good condition.
